Forgive my holes in your fence....

Sitting here this morning contemplating life and if I should get up and make more coffee. Two major things that need to be worked out before getting any Saturday morning started...lol.

Some of my old high school buddies have rekindled friendships lately as more and more of them join the ranks of motorcycle riders. It's great to meet for rides and just get away with old friends for a few days. One of them, Jocko, lives in OKC recently sent this in an e-mail and thought it would be worth sharing....hope you enjoy.

Nails in the Fence

There once was a little boy that had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that for every time he lost his temper he was to drive a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks as the boy learned to control his anger the number of nails driven into the fence began to dwindle down. He discovered it was easier to control his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally came the day when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father now suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day he was able to control his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was now able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said you have done well my son but look at all the holes in the fence.

The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife into a man and draw it out but it won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry the wound will still be there.

A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Remember that friends are very rare jewels indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, share words of praise, and always want to open their hearts to us.

Please forgive me if I have ever left a "hole" in your fence.

Thanks to my family and friends and have a great weekend.......

Wahoo what a ride........
